My name is Freddie Wilkin and I love anything art and design! here i’m showcasing my work i’ve created from college projects, to designs I’ve made using pro create, 3d scanning and printing I have learnt along the way and am keen to develop my work further and learn new techniques.

PRO CREATE DESIGNS, ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR AND PHOTOSHOP

PRO CREATE DESIGNS, ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR AND PHOTOSHOP •

Here are some of my favourite pro create designs, some of my designs are inspired from a range of different artist, from the work of “nasty neck-face”, “kaws” and “john Andrews” the creator of beavis and butthead. I also take inspiration from musicians such as Lil Peep and Lord Apex. I want my work to have influence from skate culture and the grunge youth aesthetic. I am constantly experimenting while also showcasing my unique creative style.

I enjoy animating my thoughts using vibrant colours in a cartoon style of drawing. Pro Create allows me to express myself digitally and aids in having different texture tools and effects. It has showed me I can not only make my ideas come to life but also has improved my development skills being able to add different layers and really push my creative boundaries. Now I feel very confident using Pro Create I want to improve my skills on Adobe Illustrator to elevate my skills.

collages-

On the right I’ve included some collages I have done in my free time as I enjoy making them as a hobby I used lots of little snippets from my life and reflects my interests and also to express my cultural influences such as skateboarding, fashion and street art.

Abobe Illustrator-

Here I have taken my own photographs and used adobe illustrator to turn my images into black and white vectors. I love how the black and white Changes the feel of the image and creates a more pop art feel like Roy Litchenstein’s work without colour, especially on people as it adds more dimension and can make certain facial features stand out. This process allows a sharper look.

3D SCANNING AND 3D PRINTING

3D SCANNING AND 3D PRINTING

Photogrammetry is the process of taking 100s of photos of a subject 360 degrees around the object to capture every part of it in detail.

I then use an application called polycam to stitch all of the photos together and transform it from 100s of 2d photos into a 3d virtual object.

With this file format I can then then send it to my computer, clean the model up if it needs some detail adding or removing.

Above is a lithophane 3D print. You capture an image of the subject you want to print then turn it into black and white and enhance contrast. After that you send it to an image to lithophane converter and edit the printing settings to your desired print. This then allows you to print of a defined and clean image. Finally you print of the model on a 3D printer using white filament when this is done you are able to hold your image to the light to have your image shine through.

FINAL MAJOR PROJECT

‘THE REVENGE’ - A WAR FILM BY FREDDIE WILKIN

I chose to create a war film as I wanted to demonstrate suspense and action and I thought it would be a really fun but challenging project to complete. I was really excited to experiment with realistic sound effects when editing my footage.

This was my final major project for college where I directed, edited and produced my own war film. This was a great project for me as most of my college projects were in groups but this was solo work so it allowed me to showcase my own skillset and techniques I had learnt over my time at college. It also allowed me to show range as I had mainly done comedy and skate boarding themed projects and wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone.

clothing, stickers and merch projects

Here are a few more of my personal designs I’ve worked on using pro create, I wanted to turn my images into a product with practical functionality. In the future I would like to explore building a brand for myself to get my work out there. I feel attending your university would help me gain the necessary skills to pursue that further. Refining these skills will set me up for a future in design and help me learn not only the artistic skills but also business/branding skills but lastly improving on photographing my work more effectively.
